New Orleans Mayor LaToya is asking an Orleans Parish judge to issue a restraining order against a woman she says is stalking her.

According to our partners at NOLA.com, Cantrell accuses the woman, Anne Breaud, of harassing her and “aggressively” taking photos of her and her vehicle on multiple occasions. Cantrell claims that Breaud is the person who took a photo of her dining at a French Quarter restaurant on April 7. That photo, which showed Cantrell dining with her bodyguard, New Orleans Police Officer Jeffrey Vappie, was submitted to the Metropolitan Crime Commission, which then submitted the picture to the NOPD’s Public Integrity Bureau for a possible investigation into policy violations that Vappie may have committed.

In her court filing, Cantrell said Breaud has “placed me and my family in greater risk of being harmed, jeopardizing my safety especially at places I frequent."

On Saturday, City Hall officials sent a media release defending Cantrell and her restraining order request.
