The New Orleans Saints and the state of Louisiana have reportedly reached a new lease deal for the NFL team to play in the Superdome.

According to our partners at NOLA.com, the Saints and state officials will make a formal announcement on Thursday at the Superdome. Governor Jeff Landry and other officials are expected to unveil the terms of the agreement during that briefing.

"I'm going to be back here tomorrow to sign the lease deal," Landry said to a NOLA.com reporter on the Superdome sidelines after officials announced the venue will be hosting the College Football National Championship Game in 2028.

The negotiations over the lease deal caused the Saints to miss the deadline to apply to host the 2031 Super Bowl.
