Upgrades at the Superdome in New Orleans, in preparation for the 2025 Super Bowl, have left Swifties sad.
Taylor Swift had a blank space on her concert schedule and wanted to write New Orleans' name in the open spot next summer, but managers say construction makes it impossible.
"We missed out on the Taylor Swift rotation because of that," Doug Thornton, Executive Vice President at ASM Global, told the Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District board. "People were asking me, 'Why didn't get we it here?'... We unfortunately couldn't make the dates available because of the construction. So, we missed out on that."
Thornton says they will just have to shake it off.
"It would have been in June of 23. They wanted to come."
Many fans in New Orleans have booked trips to other cities to see Taylor Swift. So, there may be some bad blood in the wake of this news... as they say, "Look what you made me do."
The good news, there are no indications that Swift told the Dome, "We are never ever getting back together." So, there remains hope of a future love story.
If your wildest dreams include seeing Swift in New Orleans, there is still potential for the future.
Swift has been in New Orleans several times. In fact, she made a surprise appearance last week at Preservation Hall to watch a jazz show with drummer Shannon Powell and his band. She was there with her boyfriend actor Joe Alwyn. He's in town filming a movie.

She last played at the Superdome in 2018. Swift also helped kickoff the Super Bowl activities at Jackson Square in 2010.
