The official Twitter account of Louisiana Secretary of State R. Kyle Ardoin tweeted out Tuesday morning - Election Day - that the state's GeauxVote app was experiencing technical difficulties.

Though the app wasn't suffering a complete failure, it was running slower than normal due to the high volume of users trying to access its functions.

The GeauxVote app offers voters in Louisiana the chance to view a sample ballot for their voting district and directs them to which polling location they should be using.

Ardoin wrote that anyone having trouble with the app and in need of answers to questions should email elections@sos.la.gov or contact their local registrar of voters.

Any malfunctions to the app will not affect the actual process of voting or later the results of the election, the Secretary of State confirmed to WDSU.

The polls are open across Louisiana until 8 p.m. tonight, and anyone already in line at 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
