Four men now are reported to have been stabbed in separate incidents at Orleans Parish Prison.

This is the just the latest spate of violence to strike the jail.

Details from the prison were few but it appears to have stemmed from a series of fights which erupted over the weekend.

One inmate was stabbed during a fight on Tuesday. The inmate was treated on site at the jail and was moved to another pod in the facility

The latest incident happened on Wednesday during a fight. He was transported to UMC for treatment then returned to the jail and relocated to a new pod.

According to the Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate the Sheriff’s Office has not responded to questions about the incidents of violence and did not report the fights to the public.

This runs counter to Sheriff Susan Hutson platform of transparency and accountability.

This latest series of violence come the beating death of an inmate June 10th and the death of an inmate who leapt over a railing on the second floor his jail pod.
