New Orleans firefighters battled a stubborn overnight blaze at a tire shop.
The call came in shortly after 1:00am to the corner of St. Claude and Louisa.
"A tire shop...was already heavily involved in flames," Captain Edwin Holmes said in a news release.
The fire had already spread to two homes. Both were unoccupied and collapsed.
A third house was also impacted.
"An occupied single-story duplex...suffered significant fire damage," according to Holmes.
A fourth property, also a duplex, suffered fire damage to the roof.
"Firefighters struggled to suppress the heavy fuel load of tires and other petrol-chemical based products."
He says 60 fire personnel and 21 fire trucks and other apparatus were called into action.
It was finally brought under control just before 3:30am.
No one was hurt.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
