Former President Donald Trump throws his support behind Senator John Kennedy’s re-election bid while simultaneously insulting Senator Bill Cassidy.
Trump’s endorsement comes the day after Kennedy announced he is launching his re-election campaign.
As WWLTV reports, Trump calls Kennedy “the real deal” who “will never let you down”
“Unlike Louisiana’s other Senator, Bill Cassidy, who used my name in ads and all over the place in order to get re-elected, and then went ‘stupid,’ John Kennedy is the real deal - a brilliant and highly educated man who will never let you down,” said Trump’s endorsement.
Following President Biden’s November election, Cassidy acknowledged Biden’s presidential win and joined five other Republican senators in voting to convict Trump in his second impeachment trial while Kennedy voted to acquit Trump.
