Amid rising concerns about increasing violence against women, the trend continued Monday.
One of the victims died after she was shot in Algiers.
"New Orleans Police Department’s Homicide Section are investigating a Homicide that left a 24-year-old woman dead," according to a news release. "The offense occurred shortly before 5:00 P.M., in the 1200 block of Casa Calvo Street."
Hours later another woman was shot.
"The NOPD is investigating a shooting that occurred at the intersection of Owens Boulevard and Duplessis Street," Officer Reese Harper
said. "Initial reports show a woman sustained a gunshot wound to her body."
EMS too the woman to the hospital.
"The initial call was made at 11:45 P.M."
