Two separate shootings just hours apart leaves one man dead, another injured

Police in New Orleans are investigating a pair of shootings across the city in less than three hours.

The first shooting investigation happened after a man was shot around 6:25 a.m. Tuesday near Hayne Boulevard and Means Avenue.

Authorities say an adult male was shot and transported by a private vehicle to the hospital.
The man’s condition is unknown at this time.

The second shooting left a man dead in the 10900 block of Roger Drive in New Orleans East.
Police received a call about the shooting at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. When responding officers arrived, they found one male victim dead on the scene.

According to New Orleans City Council’s Crime Dashboard homicides in the Little Woods neighborhood have increased 57% over last year. In 2020 there were seven fatal shootings in the area compared to eleven homicides in 2021.
