Whether or not you believe in ghosts is generally a matter of personal opinion.
But if hauntings are a real occurrence, there’s little doubt that the French Quarter would be one of the most haunted places on Earth.
And a pair of local shop owners think there was an encounter caught on camera in their store Sunday night.
Jackie Abston, co-owner of the NOLA T-Shirt of the Month Club store on St. Ann Street, told WGNO that the strange happening occurred around 10:30 p.m.
As can be seen in the surveillance footage, one of the shop’s side doors appears to be pushed open, but nothing and no one can be seen influencing the door physically.
And then…
“You can see a light white orbit fly across one of the cameras and you can see what appears to be something moving in the reflection of the glass in another door,” Abston said.
The orb floats in at about the 25-second mark on the video in the lower left corner.
Nothing in the store was moved or taken when they checked in the morning, leading Abston to believe the ghostly manifestation wasn’t malicious.
“We believe it was just a friendly French Quarter spirit just checking out our new t-shirt collection after having one too many Sazeracs,” Jackie joked.
