More than one hundred thousand Louisiana residents are is still without electricity. Phillip May President and CEO of Entergy Louisiana says Entergy crews are out and working to restore power. They will first focus on infrastructure repairs and getting power first to hospitals, sewerage treatment facilities, police and fire stations. May says after that, they will focus on getting power to as many neighborhoods as possible.

“You may not see trucks in your neighborhood because the way this repair works we start with the power stations… all of those are in good shape right now… focus on transmission lines… all those are repaired except for extreme southeast Louisiana,” May explained to WWL First News.

He says, from those power sub-stations where the transmission lines feed power, is where linemen will fan-out once those repairs are done.

“Until we get those lines repaired... the distribution lines… that is on the wooden poles, from the sub-stations to those neighbors, it doesn’t really help to repair in those neighborhoods until we get the power to those sub-stations,” said May.
