Louisiana State University today fired Men’s basketball coach Will Wade.

Wade amassed a 104-50 record in his five season as the head coach of the Men's Tiger Basketball program at LSU.

According to the Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate the dismissal came after the NCAA reported alleged violations made by Wade as head of the basketball program to the University.

Wade’s firing comes on the heels of the Tiger’s loss to Arkansas Friday at the SEC Tournament.

Assistant Coach Kevin Nickelberry takes over as interim men’s basketball coach.

The paper reports numerous attempts to reach Wade for comment were unsuccessful.

The actual termination for cause would come if the alleged violations reached Level I or Level II platforms.

This isn’t the first time Wade has been in trouble with the NCAA.

He was suspended near the end of the 2018-19 season after the media uncovered a wiretapped conversation between Wade and sports agent Christian Dawkins, who was convicted of wire fraud and bribery.

Wade was reinstated later and his contract re-negotiated wherein he forfeited all incentive pay for the 2018-19 season and clause making it easier for the university to dismiss Wade inserted into the contract.
