Collin Sims and Vincent Wynne, the two men vying to become the district attorney for the 22nd Judicial District in Louisiana, joined WWL's Newell Normand this week to discuss their campaigns.

Sims, who has been the interim D.A. since Warren Montgomery died last year, characterized the race as the choice between a professional prosecutor or his opponent, whom he called a politician.

"For 18 years, I've been a state and federal prosector," Sims said. "I think that's the difference."

Wynne, who worked as an assistant district attorney on the Northshore, said his platform is focused on crime fighting.

"I'm going to prosecute violent crime," said Wynne. "Murder, drug dealers, people who commit domestic violence."
