OPINION: Scoot: Republicans AND Democrats are to blame for crisis at the border

The crisis at the border has intensified, and we have BOTH parties to blame for it. Democrats and Republicans have avoided working together to ease the border crisis because both parties are having too much fun using the crisis as a political pawn.

Republicans blame the Democrats for the crisis, but the Republicans have no plan to improve the situation. The border did not suddenly hit the crisis level when President Biden took office. Our border with Mexico has been a problem for decades and certainly qualified as a "crisis" under the Trump administration. The crisis may have escalated under Biden, but it has been a crisis for a long time.

As Title 42 approaches expiration at midnight tonight, I wanted to get some answers from someone whose job it is to follow and report on the border daily. On my show today on WWL, CBS reporter Chris Fox joined me for a conversation about the crisis.

Here is that conversation which does provide some answers and perspective.
