A cyber attack may have compromised sensitive data of everyone with a Louisiana driver's license.

The Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles is one of numerous government agencies affected by a data breach at MOVEit, a third-party data transfer service.

OMV believes all Louisianans with a state-issued driver's license, ID, or car registration have likely had the following data exposed in the cyber attack:

-Name
-Address
-Social Security Number
-Birthdate
-Height
-Eye Color
-Driver's License Number
-Vehicle Registration Information
-Handicap Placard Information

The Louisiana Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness recommends taking the following steps immediately:

1: Prevent Unauthorized New Account Openings or Loans and Monitor Your Credit
2: Change All Passwords
3: Protect Your Tax Refund and Returns with the Internal Revenue Service
4: Check your Social Security Benefits
5: Report Suspected Identity Theft
