
A third suspect is in custody and facing an attempted murder charge in connection with Friday’s mass shooting near the Southern University campus.
According to a post on the Baton Rouge Police Department’s Facebook page, federal marshals arrested Jaicedric Williams at his home Sunday afternoon. Williams, 22, was booked into jail on 11 counts of attempted first-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.
The shooting happened around 2 a.m. Friday at a fraternity house just off the Southern campus. Police initially reported that nine people had been wounded in the shooting, but they later updated that number to 11.
Police arrested the other two suspects, Daryl Stansberry, 28, and Miles Moss, 24, on Friday. They were each booked on 11 counts of accessory after the fact to attempted first-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.
The shooting remains under investigation.
