A sergeant in the Atlanta Police Department is on unpaid suspension after an Instagram post appeared to catch him on video kicking a handcuffed woman in the head.
According to the post, police were responding to a domestic incident in a Summerhill apartment complex. A woman is visibly handcuffed and laying on her stomach in the video and the sergeant, one of two police officers standing near her, appears to kick her in the head in response to her spitting on his shoes.

“Upon reviewing the video, the actions of the sergeant appear to be unacceptable, and we are also concerned with the apparent lack of reaction from another officer present during the incident,” Atlanta police said in a statement.
APD said both officers seen in the video have been relieved from duty.
