The subtropical low northeast of Bermuda has a 90 percent chance of becoming a depression or Subtropical Storm Ana in the next five days.

"The low is expected to develop gale-force winds later today while it moves generally northward," said National Hurricane Center Senior Hurricane Specialist Dr. Jack Bevin. "The low is then forecast to move westward and southwestward over warmer waters tonight and Friday, and it will likely become a subtropical cyclone near and to
the northeast of Bermuda on Friday."

By the end of the weekend or early next week, the system is forecast to move north and northeast to a region where the environment will be more hostile to development.

The system is not a threat to mainland North America.
