Tropical Depression Grace has strenghtened slightly to maximum winds just beloe tropical storm status as of 10 p.m. Sunday.
Grace's forecast track has shifted south, which may increase its chances for redevelopment before entering the Gulf of Mexico late Wednesday or early Thursday.
"The track guidance has shifted south for this advisory, and generally calls for Grace to move westward to west-northwestward through the forecast period," said David Zelinsky with the National Hurricane Center.
The storm is not currently forecast to have any impact on Louisiana, but it is still several days before forecasters can tell where Grace will eventually make landfall.
