Teen boy fatally shot in head in East Harlem; 17 shooting victims across NYC on Monday

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A teen boy was fatally shot in the head Monday night, as the uptick in gun violence across New York City continues.

Police said the teen was shot around 11:50 p.m. during a dispute at the George Washington Houses, near the courtyard area of East 102nd Street and Third Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers discovered 17-year-old Lamar J. Gibson with a gunshot wound to the head.

EMS rushed the victim to NYC Health & Hospitals/Metropolitan, where he was pronounced dead just before 6 a.m., authorities said.

Officials said they're searching for three men who allegedly got out of a gray vehicle.

At least one of the men sought shot the teenage boy. Police have not released a description of the suspects.

There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.

The teen is one of the 17 shooting victims on Monday, according to the NYPD.

Earlier, five people were shot during three drive-by's that occurred within a 14-minute span in Canarsie.
