NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- This year’s Oscar attendees won’t be required to wear face masks during the live broadcast portions of the ceremony, according to a report.
The event’s organizers made the announcement during a Zoom meeting Monday morning, Variety first reported.
The ceremony “is being treated as a TV/film production, [so] masks are not required for people on camera,” the outlet explained.
Attendees will be asked to wear face coverings off-camera and during commercial breaks, the outlet noted.
The ceremony itself will reportedly be capped at 170 people.
