'Vaccines work': Conn. nursing homes report zero COVID-19 deaths for a week
HARTFORD, Conn. (1010 WINS) -- Connecticut has gone a full week without recording any COVID-19-related nursing home deaths, Gov. Ned Lamont said Thursday.
The last time the state went seven days without reporting a COVID-19-related nursing home death was in September, Lamont said.
"More proof that vaccines work," he tweeted.
As of Thursday, 1,467,381 Connecticut residents were fully vaccinated, Lamont said. The state expects 70% of its adult residents to have received at least one vaccine dose by the end of this week, he noted.
Of the 36,968 COVID-19 test results that came back in the state on Wednesday, 711, or 1.92 percent, were positive, he said.
As of Wednesday night, 324 residents were hospitalized with COVID-19, down by nine from Tuesday night.
The state also reported seven new COVID-19-related fatalities, Lamont added.
