NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A Canadian teenager drowned in a backyard pool on Long Island on Sunday, police said Monday.
Officers responding to a 911 call around 8:20 p.m. found Abdul Brezault, 18, unresponsive in a pool behind a home on Lansdowne Lane in Dix Hills, Suffolk County police said.
Brezault was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, the department said.
Police said Brezault, who was visiting from Canada, was at the home for a family gathering when he drowned.
The department didn't immediately release any additional details about his death.
