NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A driver in a Con Edison truck struck and killed a woman on Staten Island Friday morning, according to a report.

The 52-year-old woman was crossing the street near Narrows Road South and Fingerboard Road, near Fort Wadsworth, around 7:45 a.m. on Friday when the truck hit her, police told the Daily News.

Emergency responders pronounced the woman dead at the scene, the outlet reported.

The Con Edison truck driver stayed at the scene and hadn't been charged as of Friday afternoon. An investigation is ongoing.
