NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating after a gunman on a scooter fatally shot an 80-year-old man in the head on a Bronx street early Sunday morning, authorities said.
At approximately 1:10 a.m. while on patrol, police heard shots fired at the intersection of West 168th Street and Ogden Avenue in Highbridge.
Upon arrival, officers observed Marcelino Valerio with a gunshot wound to the head.
EMS pronounced Valerio dead at the scene.
It's unclear if the victim was the intended target as the investigation continues. No arrests have been reported.
