NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- LaGuardia Airport unveiled two New York-themed, 25-foot-tall indoor water and light installation at its brand new Terminal B.
The "state-of-the art" installation which will officially be unveiled Friday, is the first of its kind in the Western Hemisphere and the first in any airport anywhere, officials said.
The art installation's fountains circulate 4,000 gallons of water through 450 "individually controlled valves," officials said.
That water forms a curtain-shaped floor-to-ceiling cylinders.
According a statement from LaGuardia Gateway Partners, Aquatique Show programmed the valves in order "to allow water to form different shapes and patterns."

A video shared Wednesday by airport officials, showed the colorful images of famous New York City locations including a pink Brooklyn Bridge, an orange Empire State Building, a green Statue of Liberty and the Bronx Zoo entrance along with animated animals.
