VIDEO: LI lawyer forcibly removed from Manhattan GOP event after altercation

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Long Island attorney was forcibly escorted out of a GOP fundraising event in Manhattan after he got into a drunken altercation, according to a report.

A video obtained by the New York Post shows a man walking Frank Schellace, 67, out of Bice Cucina on West 55th Street with his arms pinned back.

Schellace, who has worked on state Supreme Court cases in Nassau County for years, became belligerent during an event hosted by the Liberty Club, a Manhattan-based Republican group, a witness told the outlet.

“I was right at the bar area having a conversation and all of a sudden, this guy got rowdy,” the witness said, adding that Schellace was “clearly drunk.”

“He was extracted in a chokehold. He was still screaming and yelling,” the witness added.

Schellace himself told the Post he got upset following a politics-related “misunderstanding,” but claimed he was not drunk, and said he “did not recall” being forcibly escorted from the restaurant.

Supermarket heiress Andrea Catsimatidis, who controls the Liberty Club, told the outlet Schellace’s “behavior was inappropriate and a major violation of the Liberty Club’s rules of decorum.”

“The individual in question has been stripped of his membership and is no longer welcome at any of our events,” she added.
