Man, 58, shot dead blocks from his Bronx apartment: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 58-year-old man died after he was shot in the head a few blocks away from his Bronx apartment, the NYPD said.

Officers responding to a 911 call around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday found Christopher Bridges lying in the road near East 165th Street and Faile Street in Longwood with gunshot wounds to his head and body, police said.

Bridges was pronounced dead at the scene, the NYPD said.

No one had been arrested in connection with his death as of Thursday morning. An investigation is ongoing.
