Man wearing NYPD sweatshirt arrested with BB gun in Times Square
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man wearing an NYPD sweatshirt and driving a car with an NYPD plate was arrested for carrying a BB gun in Times Square on Tuesday, according to a report.
Abm Faisal, 31, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon Tuesday morning, the New York Post reported, citing police sources.
An off-duty NYPD officer first saw Faisal sitting inside a car near West 44th Street and Broadway around 5:15 a.m., sources told the outlet.
The same detective spotted Faisal walking around with "what appeared to be a handgun" on his waistband approximately an hour later, the outlet reported. The weapon turned out to be a BB gun, according to the outlet.
Faisal was arrested "without incident" soon after, the outlet reported. His attorney information wasn't immediately available Tuesday.
