NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man slashed a straphanger on the hand inside a Manhattan subway station on Monday afternoon after asking for money, according to a report.
The man was asking passersby for money on the southbound E train platform at the West 4th Street-Washington Square station in Greenwich Village around 4:20 p.m. on Monday when a subway rider gave him some cash, police told the New York Post.
When the rider failed to hand over more cash, however, the man slashed him on the hand, the outlet reported.
The rider checked himself into a nearby hospital for treatment, according to the outlet.
His attacker hadn't been arrested as of Monday evening, the outlet reported. An investigation is ongoing.
