Man stabs stepdad, 41, to death inside his Queens home: report

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 31-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder after he allegedly stabbed his stepfather to death with a knife in Queens on Tuesday, according to police and a report.

Police responding to a 911 call around 12:50 a.m. on Tuesday found Henry Garland, 41, inside his home on North Conduit Avenue, near John F. Kennedy International Airport, with stab wounds to his neck and torso, the NYPD said.

Garland was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police took Andrew Hilton, 31, into custody after the stabbing, and found a knife at the home, the NYPD said. Hilton has been charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

The New York Post reported that Hilton was Garland's stepson. Garland was allegedly arguing with his wife — Hilton's mother — when the stabbing took place, according to the outlet.

Hilton's attorney information wasn't immediately available Wednesday. An investigation is ongoing.
