VIDEO: Crashed MTA bus removed from Brooklyn brownstone
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – An MTA bus that had been lodged in a Brooklyn brownstone since a chaotic crash on Monday was removed by crews on Friday morning.
Video shows a crowd cheering as the damaged bus is pulled out of the brownstone and towed away.
The B49 bus had drawn onlookers this week after it slammed into a townhouse at the corner of Bedford Avenue and Lincoln Road in Prospect Lefferts Gardens on Monday afternoon.
Sixteen people suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

The Department of Buildings issued a full vacate order for the building, which suffered structural damage to its front facade, as well as damage to a load-bearing masonry wall, a department spokesperson said.
According to WNBC, workers installed shoring to prevent the building from collapsing when the bus was removed by MTA crews.
Surveillance video obtained by multiple outlets earlier this week shows the 55-year-old bus driver removing a bag from under his seat before the crash. The driver then appears to lose control of the bus, hitting a vehicle in front of him before careening into the building.
In a statement provided to 1010 WINS Wednesday afternoon, MTA Communications Director Tim Minton called the video "disturbing on many levels, raising questions about whether basic safety rules were followed."
"The incident remains under investigation, and we will have more to say when that is complete," Minton added.
MTA Bus President Craig Cipriano said Monday that the bus driver has been on the job for 13 years and has had few collisions.
