NJ day camps, sleepaway camps to reopen this summer: Murphy

TRENTON, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- New Jersey will allow day camps and sleepaway camps to reopen this summer, Gov. Phil Murphy said Wednesday.

"Today, I'm signing an Executive Order allowing for our summer camps — both day camps and sleepaways — to open for the upcoming season," Murphy said at a news briefing. "We are all committed to a safe and fun summer for our kids."

Camps will require indoor mask use, as well as daily health screenings, he said.

Unvaccinated overnight campers and staff members will have to receive a negative COVID-19 test result before the program starts, as well as a second negative test result within the first few days of their session, he added.
