NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An off-duty New Jersey state trooper was hospitalized after he accidentally shot himself on an Amtrak platform in Penn Station on Sunday, according to reports.
The trooper shot himself in the leg as he was adjusting his holster around 9 p.m. on Sunday, the New York Post reported, citing information from New Jersey State Police.
As of Monday, the trooper had already been released from Bellevue Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries, the outlet reported.
The incident happened on an Amtrak platform inside the station, NJ.com reported.
An investigation is ongoing.
