NYC Department of Correction employee charged with assault, harassment: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A New York City Department of Correction employee was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a woman and threw her cell phone, according to police and a report.

Albert Lorusso, 43, was arrested and charged with assault, criminal mischief and harassment on Staten Island early Wednesday morning, the NYPD said.

The arrest followed a domestic incident during which Lorusso allegedly pulled a woman with whom he was arguing off a coach, the Staten Island Advance reported.

Lorusso has also been accused of throwing the woman's phone after she said she would call 911, the outlet reported. The woman suffered a minor injury during the incident, according to the outlet.

Lorusso's attorney information wasn't immediately available Wednesday.

1010 WINS has reached out to the Department of Correction for comment on his arrest.
