NYPD's first female chief of personnel settles discrimination suit for $330K: report
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD's first female chief of personnel has reached a settlement with New York City over a lawsuit she filed claiming she was fired because of her race, gender and age, according to a report.
Diana Pizzuti, who sued the city after former NYPD Commissioner James O'Neill fired her and several other high-ranking officers as part of a January 2018 department shake-up, received a $330,000 settlement, the Daily News reported.
Pizzuti's lawsuit claimed she was fired because she was white, a woman and over the age of 60, according to the report.
The suit also claimed the department wanted to replace her and other top brass with younger men and officers of color, according to the report.
A spokesman for the city's Law Department confirmed that Pizzuti received $330,000, the outlet reported.
