Police investigate video showing boys being attacked on Bronx subway platform
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are investigating after disturbing video emerged showing two boys being attacked at a Bronx subway station.
The video, taken last Friday at the Fordham Road/Jerome Avenue station, appears to show a man hitting one boy and shaking the other as he yells at them.
WABC reported that police have identified the man as the children's father.
Police are investigating the incident, but no charges have been filed as of Thursday morning, according to the report. WCBS-TV also reported that an investigation is ongoing and no one is in custody.
The Administration for Children's Services responded to the video in a statement, saying: "Our top priority is protecting the safety and wellbeing of all children in New York City. We are investigating this case with the NYPD."
In a tweet Wednesday night, NYPD Transit wrote: "We're aware of a video on social media that depicts 2 children on a subway platform being struck by an adult that is accompanying them. @NYPDDetectives are looking into this incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to share it with @NYPDTips."
