NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Federal prosecutors charged a fifth Long Island Railroad employee with overtime fraud on Thursday, according to a report.
Frank Pizzonia joins four other LIRR employees — Thomas Caputo, Joseph Ruzzo, John Nugent and Joseph Balestra — who are facing charges in connection with an overtime fraud scheme, the Daily News reported.
The five workers are accused of “repeatedly covering for one another’s absences from work while nonetheless understanding that time sheets including the unworked hours would be submitted,” according to an indictment obtained by the outlet.
Pizzonia made a total of $305,000 in 2018, after earning a total of $74,000 in 2017, the outlet reported.
Attorney information for the five men wasn’t immediately available Tuesday.
