Queens fire victim may have deliberately set explosion: report
JACKSON HEIGHTS, QUEENS -- An explosion and subsequent fire in Jackson Heights may have been set off as part of a suicide plot, according to the New York Post.
Police identified the victim of Wednesday's four-alarm fire at at 41st Avenue and 74th Street as 26-year-old Anesti Bulgaresti.
The explosion was being investigated as incendiary after police say Bulgaresti's body was found with stab wounds in the seventh-floor penthouse apartment where the fire originated.
Police sources now tell the Post that Bulgaresti was depressed and considered returning home to Greece.

The fire was originally investigated as being set by a suspected killer in order to cover their tracks, as Bulgaretsi was found stabbed over 20 times, according to The Post.
Police sources told the paper that the stab wounds may have been self-inflicted following a medical examiner inspection.
Four firefighters suffered minor injuries in knocking down the fire, FDNY officials said. Dozens were forced from their homes.
