Queens man who drove prostitutes upstate to meet with 100s of clients arrested: report

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The FBI on Wednesday arrested a Queens man who allegedly drove women from Queens to engage in prostitution with hundreds of men in a Putnam County village, according to a report.

Teodoro Rojas Lopez was arrested and charged with using a cell phone to promote prostitution on Wednesday, the Daily News reported, citing a criminal complaint.

Prosecutors say Rojas Lopez worked for a Queens-based prostitution ring for seven years, driving women from New York City to Brewster, New York to meet up with clients, the outlet reported.

Rojas Lopez allegedly had 383 Brewster-based contacts on his cell phone, and would "set up dates through text messages with clients, [and] provide details on the women he was transporting and the cost of their services — usually $100 for a half-hour," according to the outlet.

Wednesday wasn't the first time Rojas Lopez was arrested in connection with the ring. In February 2018, police arrested him in Carmel, New York, after he admitted to driving two women to 12 different prostitution appointments, the outlet reported.

He served less than a year in jail after he was arrested, according to the outlet. His attorney information wasn't immediately available Thursday.
