NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An off-duty NYPD officer was arrested in Queens on Monday for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend during a dispute over a phone, police said.
Officials arrested 28-year-old Christopher Valencia just after 10:30 p.m. in connection to an alleged assault that occurred inside his Queens home.
Valencia's girlfriend suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident .
According to police, the dispute stemmed from an argument over a phone but did not provide further details.
His charges include unlawful imprisonment, assault and harassment.
Valencia has been with the NYPD for over 3 years, according to authorities.
