NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An 86-year-old man died five days after a car hit him as he was crossing the street on Staten Island, the NYPD said Wednesday.
Seung Choi was crossing the street at the intersection of North Bay Street and Canal Street on Staten Island around 12:22 p.m. on Jan. 13 when a vehicle hit him, police said.
Choi was taken to Staten Island University Hospital for treatment, the NYPD said. He succumbed to his injuries on Monday, police said.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and hadn't been charged as of Wednesday, the NYPD said. An investigation is ongoing.
