VIDEO: 30 arrested, 1 officer hurt, police vehicles vandalized in Brooklyn protests

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Dozens of people were arrested, at least one officer was injured and police vehicles were vandalized Tuesday night during protests in Brooklyn over the death of Walter Wallace Jr., a Black man shot and killed by police in Philadelphia.

Police said 30 people were arrested and one officer suffered arm and leg injuries in the protests. At least nine police vehicles were also vandalized.


A crowd of about 200 protesters gathered at Fort Greene Park and then took to the streets.

The windows of businesses were smashed, small fires were started and NYPD vehicles were spray-painted with graffiti and damaged.

According to the New York Post, the crowd also chanted "Burn the precinct to the ground, every city, every town!" Some also threw rocks and bottles at officers.

One video shows a vehicle driving through a crowd of officers, injuring one of them. It's unclear if the driver was involved in the protests.

Dozens more were arrested as unrest continued in Philadelphia on Tuesday night.
