NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Mayor Bill de Blasio received Johnson & Johnson's COVID-19 vaccine live at his coronavirus briefing on Thursday.
The mayor noted his “informal clothing” at the top of his City Hall presser, teasing the on-air vaccination, which was given by city Health Commissioner Dr. Dave Chokshi.
"You're very good at that," the mayor told Chokshi before getting handed his vaccination card.
"I want to tell everyone, that's really easy," de Blasio said. "If you've had a flu shot or anything like that, it's really, really the same. It's just done, you feel it for a second, and then it's over."

Unlike the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is a single-dose shot, so the mayor won’t need a booster.
De Blasio said Thursday that over 3,077,000 vaccine doses had been administered in the city.
On Wednesday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo received the J&J vaccine in Harlem. The governor's vaccination was also broadcast live.
