Woman, 25, dies after head-on collision in the Bronx: NYPD
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 25-year-old woman died after she drifted out of her lane and crashed head-on into a van in the Bronx early Tuesday morning, the NYPD said.
Sharomy Nunez was driving a Honda Odyssey west on Morris Park Avenue, near Van Buren Street, in Van Nest around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday when she drifted out of her lane and collided with a Ford Econoline van traveling east on the avenue, a preliminary police investigation found.
The Bronx resident was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where she was pronounced dead, the NYPD said.
The 55-year-old man driving the Ford Econoline van was taken to the same hospital with neck and leg trauma, police said. He was listed in stable condition as of Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
An investigation is ongoing.
