Woman critically hurt after being shot in the head in Queens: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A woman was hospitalized in critical condition after she was shot in the head in Queens Tuesday afternoon, the NYPD said.

The woman, whose age wasn't immediately released, was shot outside a building on Dix Avenue, near McBride Street, in Far Rockaway around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, police said.

She was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in critical condition, the NYPD said.

No one had been arrested in connection with the shooting as of Tuesday evening, police said. An investigation is ongoing.
