Man who approached children, offered them a Disney CD in NJ sought by police
EVESHAM, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a man they said approached children and offered them CD's on at least two occasions.
According to officials, the incidents occurred twice within a five-day span, with the first incident taking place on March 4 at the Mayfair housing development.
Lt. Joseph Friel said that when a child exited a school bus in the afternoon an older white man attempted to hand the child a Disney CD then attempted to hand it to the child's mother.
The man left in a green Subaru once both refused to accept the CD, authorites said.
Days later on March 8, at around 4 p.m, only one block away from the first incident, police said the same man drove up in the same vehicle to three girls between ages 7 and 10 who were roller skating in front of a house, Friel added.
The man attempted to strike up a conversation with the girls and asked themif they were related before and if they liked music.
He gave them a CD before he drove away, officials said, noting that the man had a small dog with him in the vehicle.
An investigation is ongoing.
