EAST SETAUKET, N.Y. (WCBS 880) — A 31-year-old woman was killed in a Long Island house fire that also left her 10-month-old son and the child's father hospitalized with injuries early Friday morning.

Suffolk County Police responded to the home at 360 Old Town Rd. in East Setaucket around midnight after a call came in to 911 about the blaze.
Lisa Ostrowski became trapped inside the home when the flames broke out and was unable to escape. She was found dead once the fire was extinguished, police said.
Her 10-month-old son and the baby's father were able to get out.
Officials said 30-year-old Stephen Ortner managed to escape through a second-floor window onto a roof ledge where he handed the baby to a passerby below. Emergency responders then came to the child's aid.
Ortner was then able to climb down to the ground to safety.
Ortner, who suffered serious injuries, and his son, Leo, who sustained non-life threatening injuries, were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital.
No other injuries were reported.
A preliminary investigation has determined the cause of the fire to be non-criminal in nature, according to police.
Authorities said the windy conditions overnight made it more difficult for firefighters to get the flames under control.
