NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Daunte Wright’s girlfriend spoke out about witnessing his death in a new interview on Thursday, saying she wanted to see “justice” for the 20-year-old.
Speaking with the Daily Mail at a protest in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota Thursday night, Wright’s girlfriend Alayna — who declined to give her last name — said she attended the protest to “process what happened to Daunte.”
Former Minnesota police officer Kimberly Potter shot and killed Wright during a traffic stop in Brooklyn Center on April 11. Alayna was in the car with Wright when he was shot.
Potter “should know right from wrong and she shouldn’t have been… I just want justice for him,” Alayna told the outlet.
“Thank you to everyone for showing out. It means the world to me,” she added. “I just want to thank everybody for their support, their love and everything.”
