NJ reports nearly 100 new COVID-19 deaths, more than 3K hospitalizations
TRENTON, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- New Jersey reported nearly 100 new COVID-19-related deaths and more than 3,000 hospitalizations on Tuesday, Gov. Phil Murphy said.
Ninety additional New Jerseyans have died of complications related to COVID-19, bringing the state's death toll to 15,254, Murphy tweeted Tuesday afternoon.
As of Monday evening, 3,129 people in the state were hospitalized with confirmed or probable COVID-19 cases, up from 2,961 on Sunday, he said.
Six hundred and one of those 3,129 patients were in intensive care, and 359 were on ventilators, the state's COVID-19 tracker shows.
New Jersey also reported 4,661 new positive COVID-19 test results, bringing its case total to 341,910, Murphy said.
"We need all hands on deck to beat back the second wave," he wrote on Twitter. "Mask up. Social distance. Wash your hands. Be smart."
